Ability: Shed Skin- There is a 30% chance at the end of each turn that Shed Skin will cure the user of a non-volatile status ailment. If the user is burned or poisoned, Shed Skin will cure the user before any burn or poison damage is dealt.

Attacks: Wrap, Twister, Agility

Likes: Reading, rivers, ponds, lotus blossoms, tea, antiques, blue, sunny days, natural ambiance, thunderstorms.

Dislikes: Loud noises, rot, stains, itchy surfaces, burrs, getting his hair caught on things, dirty dishes, cleaning laundry, floods.

Personality: Living through the Kami war, Kakita has grown up some. He still prefers moments of solitude, but his new life goal forces him to be social. He attempts to conduct himself as a proper gentleman, but when annoyed he responds with snarky answers. Only with children or people he knows has lost someone close to them does he display never ending patience. He's thoroughly dedicated to learning, but rarely acts properly. He travels across the world to gather information and commits it to the written word and places it within a library... but still prefers to skip out on meetings and lounge around private areas. It can make others frustrated and assume he's less intelligent than he is.

History: Kakita comes from a family concerned with military prowress, making him the odd one out. He wasn't abandoned for his disinterest growing up, but his twin sister was favored for having the same passion as the rest of the family. She trained with her parents while Kakita snuck out to read poetry or history texts. He worked as a do-all helper for the paper maker and shop in Crystal lake before the Kami war.

The day the floods started in Crystal Lake, he was eating lunch with Satoko. His reaction was to head into the village proper to see what was going on. His boss was desperately trying to save rolls of his work. A water-proofed leather tube container was thrust at Kakita before the man braved the waters again not to be seen again.

His family volunteered to battle alongside the guardians, but bookworm Kakita remained behind. So he sat in the refuge pondering what to do. To ease his melancholy, he opened the leather tube to discover it contained sheets of top quality paper and instructions on how to make more. Kakita had no desire to become a paper maker, but his find made him think.

In the series of tragedies marking the Kami wars, it wasn't just physical beings that were destroyed. With the deceased went their knowledge, and some of this could be critical! During the war, he helped rebuild the shrine using his master's paper (but not the instructions) and is now assisting stock a library in Gale Spring. He travels across the continent transcribing any info of possible worth and bringing it back to his new hometown. Kakita is determined that no more knowledge be lost!


Additional Info:
-The charm on his front used to be his mothers, before she became a dragonite.
-Kakita turned 18 during the Kami wars.
-During the battle, Kakita's father became grievously injured and can no longer battle. He spends his time by training up the next generation of fighters.
-Doji often accompanies Kakita on his more dangerous ventures into ruins to fish out old knowledge. This has actually improved their sibling relationship. (She, apparently, only values people who are willing to put their life on the line.)
-The walls of Kakita's homes have built in bookshelves and racks for books and scrolls.
-His mother made his new clothes (hat included) to show her acceptance of his life goal. He's the family's first scholar.
